‘Atlanta Korean School’s Generosity Shines Through Pajama Day, Fundraiser, and Cultural Showcase’
December 2023

On the morning of the 9th, Atlanta Korean School (Principal Jun-hee Shim) delivered donations of funds and goods to the Asian American Resource Center (AARC) at the cafeteria of the Atlanta Korean School.

Over the course of three weeks, Atlanta Korean School, along with the student council, raised $1,004 in profits by selling items such as coffee, cocoa, donuts, cookies, and bungeo-ppang, in addition to collecting 400 cans of food. This contribution was presented to AARC.

Jisoo Ye, the representative of AARC, expressed gratitude, saying, “I appreciate the Korean school, student council, and teachers who teach children the joy of sharing early on. The ability to give to others is precious, and our children will be happy throughout their lives.”

Furthermore, the school successfully concluded the 2023-2024 fall semester by hosting a ‘Special Activity Class Learning Presentation.’ All students from 32 classes participated in the presentation, showcasing various performances and art exhibitions on Korean culture and history learned in special activity classes, including singing, traditional Korean music, dance, taekwondo, K-POP, and object play.

Principal Jun-hee Shim shared his gratitude to the dedicated teachers, expressing appreciation for their commitment to teaching and sharing the students’ pride and sense of accomplishment.

On the 9th, Atlanta Korean School wrapped up the schedule for the 2023-2024 academic year’s first semester and is set to begin the spring semester of the 2024 academic year on January 13th.’
